My great grandmother Della Geer lived in Gooding, Idaho, when I knew her in the ’80s. She was an RN and has often been described as “no nonsense” and “salt of the earth.” My brother and I were big fans of her pancakes cooked in bacon fat. We sang a song about them called “Crispy-Edge Pancakes.” If you know the title, you know all the words.
