Rose of Stone Hedge

It isn’t easy, if you are a 3-year-old child of working parents, to visit the American Horticultural Society of Alexandria, Va., which operates like a bank, keeping regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You really need a visiting grandma to get you in there.

This is not Della’s playhouse, but it is a good opportunity to mention that Nanny Rose built a purple multipurpose countertop for Della’s Waldorfian playhouse-without-walls while she was here.

Where is Bappa? Motorcycling to Baja with Uncle Paul. You are missing out on some good horticulture.IMG_8571IMG_8570

Della had somehow managed to live her whole life up ’til now without eating one of these snack puddings. These puddings, in case you don’t remember, are really good.

Same goes for Shirley Temple.

Thanks, Nanny! We love you! Thanks for taking care of us.DSC_0276
